Hi,
I have taken the VCAP-DCD exam once and failed badly. I have one more chance before my VCP5 expires on March 10th.
I am trying to see if there is a way I can get a little more time to get the VCAP-DCD. What I was thinking is this - My VCP5 is for the VSphere 5.0. Is it possible for me to try and do the VCP5 exam for VSphere 5.1 before March 10 and pass it so that I have a fresh VCP5 which expires a bit later on...or is it a case that both the VCP5 for VSphere 5.0 and 5.1 expire on March 10?
Thx for help in advance. I am just trying to see if I can get a bit more time to prepare for the DCD exam without the deadline taking me back to square 1.
The exam you're referring to is VCP550D. It's a special "delta" exam that tests mostly on things specific to vSphere 5.5, it can only be taken by current VCP5-DCV holders such as yourself, and only til March 10th.
If I understand the VMware's policies correctly, taking an passing the VCP5 exam again will refresh the expiry date, and you will have another 2 years.
