VCAP-DCD 5 passed!

Today I've passed the VCAP-DCD 5! I scheduled exam few days ago (on Friday) so I didnt have much time to prepare but I've passed! I was forced to try to pass that exam (the VMware partner level requirements) I was surprised that I got score immediately.

The exam was heavy, after 2 hours I did around 40 questions only...

It is really funny because I've been rescheduling VCAP-DCA 5 since December (the next scheduled date is August):D I think I will not reschedule that exam and I will take it at last.

So now I have power and I'm going to refresh some things for DCA.

I have now more design experience than typical daily administrator tasks. I checked blueprint for DCA and requirements aren't so heavy. My problem is that I don't use many commands everyday. Anybody can tell me if it is possible to pass the DCA exam without knowing exactly parameters? Is it enough time to just check it? Or should i refresh all command's parameters link and memorize it before exam? I know useful and important commands but I don't remember all options.

You have the official PDF.

Anyway, it's important understand that does not matter which tool are you using, the result is important.

If you are more confident with vSphere Client (when I've took was v 5.0 so NO vSphere Web Client) you can do all tasks that you can with this tool.

Of course some minor tasks could be completed only with one tool.

VCAP5-DCA passed! I took it on Monday and yesterday I got info that I passed so I waited only 4 days to get my VCAP-DCA score... not 15 business day. The exam was funny (why I re-scheduled that exam many times :smileygrin:)... not difficult but I did not do all tasks because lack of time and I got ~400. Interesting thing is that still I do not have any info about passed DCD on my transcript (I opened a case and the vmware support answered that there is a bug and they are working on it..) but DCA has been added to my transcript suddenly.

Also I do not have access to the VCAP log in portal... when will I receive access?

I had a similar problem. I cannot login to VCAP portal. VMware certification team replies in similar tone. It is on 4th July I completed my DCD and my experience is mentioned here on my blog. Till the date formally I have no confirmation if I have passed however pearson result is pasted on my blog. At one point certification went ahead and mentioned that I have NOT passed the exam:smileyconfused:. I just replied with screen shot of pearson website and scanned copy of the result. But there is no change in my DCD status. I left ...further troubles for them

thanks for answer. I've re-opened the case and waiting for answer. Now it's time to prepare to VCDX and defend it in 1st/2nd Q 2014
