Hi Guys,
Haven't seen anybody posting about failing VCAP-DCA exam, so I will be first..
:smileysilly:
Took the test on Feb 1st and just received my results today.
274...., needed 300 minimum to pass
Although it is a failure, I really like this test. There are a lot of planning and thoughts went into this for sure.
VCAP-DCA really kicks some serious ... stuff, extensive hands on and deep knowledge are the keys!
- I have read most of the guides listed in blue prints..., ESX, ESXi, VC admin, iSCSI, FiberChannel, vMA and scripting, Resource guide, HA guide to name a few...,
- It is all there, just follow blueprints closely..., I have significant hands on as well.
Where I failed is the thinking that I will be able to figure things out as I go..., this approach provided to be fatal.
There is no time to play, or try differently, you have to have a knowledge and practical experience to nail things down right on the first try...,
I was thinking that I will pass with a few gray areas that I have....,
Great exam, I tip my hut off to those guys that passed it, congrats to all of You!
Will give my best to prepare and nail it second time around.
I have experienced a few glitches and since there is no "feedback" form provided, I will contact Jon Hall, he might be able to address them if legit.

Thanks Patricio,
Congrats on DCA, well done!

Hi Alex,
You are not alone. I took it last year and got flunked by 40+ points. I enjoyed the whole process and i'm hitting the lab harder again to clear the exam

Do you get a marksheet at the end of the exam with a breakdown of key areas and how much you scored in each like a Cisco exam marksheet? This is helpfull in indentifying our weak areas where we may have lost points

Jeet,
For the VCAP-DCA exam you will get result within 10 business days, not right after the exam.
Result will come via e-mail (in my case) and will not have a split of how you have done in different areas.
Major lesson I got from this exam is about time management. Lost too much valuable time at the beginning and was really time pressured at the end, so
much that did not complete the tasks that I would normally would not have issues with.
Good luck,
Alex
