Twenty days left for the VDCA550 exam

Hi All,

Only 20 days left untill the exam! Nervous!!!:smileycry:

In the 18 days since my first message, I've done a great work with my weakest parts, but I think I'm not in time to learn so much PowerCLI (25 days left to the exam) because I cannot focus only in that, maybe I'm crazy but I will try to pass the exam with a more than basic knowledge in PowerCLI...I would really appreciate any resource with basic videos on that.

My last few questions (excuse me if any of them cannot be answered for not breaking NDA):

- At the VDCA550 exam beside the pdf docs, as I read in the blueprint you have web documentation: VMware KB - Knowledge Base Articles for all VMware Products and vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center

Is that correct?

If it is that are good news as if I need to check something I think it's faster than PDF.

I've seen VMware sample question but I have some doubts of exam workflow:

- First you get credentials, IPs, names... all environment staff? Note it should be a great idea or you can always go back? Or credentials are reminded in all questions?

- Then questions are presented, you can jump between questions and after the last one you are presented the FINISH button? If answer is yes, you can go throw all questions, note the more confortable ones and start with that ones, is recommended or is a wate of time?

- You always can jump from bridge machine to the question without closing session? And between questions all opened staff stays opened?

Please any new advice will be apreciated.

Will come back on 27th an give you my score.

Many thanks to all.

Pluralsight Training

Use PowerCLI to get Quick Stats (Part 1)

Pick a couple of small tasks and learn how to do them from the command-line.

Learn piping

learn how to find commands and get help on them

>At the VDCA550 exam beside the pdf docs, as I read in the blueprint you have web documentation: VMware KB - Knowledge Base Articles for all VMware Products and vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center

Is that correct?

Yes.  pubs.vmware.com and kb.vmware.com are available

>- First you get credentials, IPs, names... all environment staff? Note it should be a great idea or you can always go back? Or credentials are reminded in all questions?

Some info is on the desktop, some is in the footer of every questions, the rest is in the question itself.  Everything uses the default administrator name and "vmware1!"

You should not need to hunt to find any info you need.  Most (all?) is in the tools themselves (putty has saved system info, vSphere client has saved names, WebClient has a link on the desktop)

>Then questions are presented, you can jump between questions and after the last one you are presented the FINISH button?

Yes

>If answer is yes, you can go throw all questions, note the more confortable ones and start with that ones, is recommended or is a wate of time?

Waste of time.  Start at the beginning and work all of the questions in order.  If you hit one you need to look up the documentation for, or if you work on an item >10min and are not close to finishing, mark it on your sheet and skip to the next.  (item 3, create cluster.  need doc ; item 10 write vib, taking too long)  etc  at the end of the exam, return to the ones you skipped.

>- You always can jump from bridge machine to the question without closing session? And between questions all opened staff stays opened?

Yes.  Note that you should close whatever you are not using.  The less information on the screen that has to refresh, the better.
