No More VCAP-DTA ?!?

What?!?  Seriously?  Well, this is a bit of a shock and disappointment....

I had been preparing to take this exam next month and without any warning we're not allowed to register for the exam any more... Smiley Sad

Why would this be done without any sort of announcement or at least transition period like with the DCA 5.0 and 5.5 exams?  The certification team could at least have given a heads up.

Given that the VMware staff have posted on this board that a View 6.0 VCAP refresh shouldn't be expected this year, I guess I have to move on to other pursuits for a while.

It's working fine. Just tested the registration.

Hmmmm, that's strange.  DTA still isn't working for me, but there doesn't seem to be a problem registering for DCD.  :smileyconfused:

Had you registered for this exam before?

can you check if it's already there in your pre-approved exam in PearsonVUE.

Nope.  Haven't registered for the DTA before.

Checked Pearson Vue and it only shows my previous DCA exam and the DTD exam that I just registered for.

Is that screen from requesting authorization or trying to schedule?

You request authorization at VMware.com and signup for the exam at pearsonvue.com.  

When did you request authorization for the exam?

Just checked and it's still giving me the same error.

I wonder why this was just for DTA, and not DCD...:smileyconfused:

Josh, it looks like the education support team has already sorted out the issue and manually put through the authorization on the back-end.

If you can find out why I encountered this issue, I can still PM you those details.
