Is VCAP-DCA coming for vSphere 5.0?

Hi,

I'm slightly confused about how to go for VCAP-DCA exam, I have been preparing for it from past three months but some time back I came to know that VCAP DCA which currently judges your skills on vSphere 4.0 would be revised in accordance with newer 5.0, So I decided to renew my VCP 410 to VCP 510 and wait for newer exam, now having completed my VCP510 two days ago; I checked the vmware site for any changes in VCAP but it is still pretty much the same,

Can someone please help me on this, is vmware guys are reworking on redesigning VCAP-DCA or shall I go ahead for VCAP-DCA 4.0?

Thanks in advance,

Mayank

VCAP5-DCA beta (only for selected people) will probably start next Monday and may close after 4 weeks...

Considering at least one (but probably two or more) months for the results... I guess that official exam cannot start before june-jul...

All VMware have said is that the VCAP-DCA is arriving 'soon' for the vSphere 5 track. The VCAP-DCD has already gone through beta and will hopefully be released soon. John Hall (the principal certification guy) stated back in January on the VMware communities podcast that both exams should be available in the first quarter of this year and although they've obviously missed this deadline I'm hoping they aren't far off.

Should you wait for the v5 track? I'd say that depends on your knowledge level. If you're working with v5 and know it as well as v4 then it probably makes sense to wait, especially given the cost of the exam. If you only know v4 (and that's what you've been revising) then the v5 exam may well be harder and taking v4 may be the way to go. It all comes down to what you want the exam for. On your CV either exam will carry a similar weight (at least for the next year or more) and both will help you quantify your own skill level.

Hi Guys, Any know what the effect of this will be for submitting VCDX application and the subsequent defense (assuming the application is approved)? I read somewhere that VCDX4 applications cant be submitted anymore. I already have dcd4 but am little bit apprehensive in dca4 as I dont want to be left out paying for dcd/dca 5 versions in order to go for vcdx again.
