Best Certification Path

Hello All,

After VCP-DCV 5.5, I'm confused which certification path to take.

I looked at the certification roadmap:

My question:

Is it better to upgrade to VCP6-DCV and wait for VCIX6-DCV ?

or

Go for VCAP5-DCD / VCAP5-DCA

Depends what you use more and how much time you have done on the VCAP exams. If none then i'd wait for VCIX-6 and just do one of those exams and then you'll automatically get VCP6. Rumours are the VCIX exams are out early next year with the beta due to happen any day now

I have decided to go for VCP 6 delta, however would like to know, what the validity of the Cert be? Would my VCP 6 be valid for 2 years from the date I pass the delta exam? Thanks in advance!

Yes your VCP will be valid for 2 years from the date you pass the delta exam (assuming you pass it within 2 years of passing the VCP5 exam).

If you then pass VCIX6 within 2 years of passing your VCP6 delta exam it will renew your VCP for another 2 years.

Your VCP6-DCV would have an expiry date 2 years from when you gain the certification, and your VCP5-DCV would take the same expiry date.
