Hi,
i've installed plug-in for update manager. I've also well configured my proxy (test successfull).
I've launched "Edit update Download wizard". I can see that it started to download something ... now this info is out of "task bar" and I don't know if it's finished or not.
How can I see if it finished to download all updates for my ESX nodes ? Where are these updates stocked ?
Thx for your help
you need atleast 3.0.3 for VUM to work. However, going from 3.0.x, I would highly recommend a rebuild.

Did you check your update repository? Also, if you feel not everything got downloaded, you can go to your scheduled tasks and start the download process again.
Sorry, but there's nothing in the update repository and I've already restarted via scheduled task. Any other idea ?
Thx
so what information do you get when you set the scheduled task to "run now"?
Maybe it's still running download, where can I see this ?
Is there something more to do to complete downloading process ?
thx
You should see a task in your vCenter Server that says update signature. But if you said your update repository is empty, to me it says it hasn't run.
You have created baselines already?
see this KB article as well.
No,
I haven't already defined baseline because when I try to do it, I've got an error message "You cannot create a baseline as there are no updates downloaded on the update manager server. Please try again later".
I can see "update sugnature" in the task bar and it's initiated by "vmware update manager update download".
Any other idea ?
Thx
I've just read your link. I've got one host attached to this virtual center.
But I'm in a special case, the VC run on the hosts I want to apply updates.
Can I do this in that case ?
Thx
with the host attached run your scheduled task again, if you haven't already. That will start to update your repository. However, if you are trying to patch a single host that is running your vCenter as a guest, you will not be able to use VUM.
You will have to use the host update utility or do it command line via esxupdate
4.0

3.5

Just another precision. The ESX node I'm trying to migrate to 3.5 is now in 3.02 version.
Is there a solution to do a such migration in my case ?
Thx
