update manager

there are 100 vm in an cluster ( esxi 5.5) vmware tools running out of date on all vm. now can i update with vcenter update manager to all vmtools. some vms are  linux some vms are windows so i dont know their admin password. is it possible to update vmtools without admin password with vcenter update manager and then after update  vmtools .is need vms reboot ?

You can use UPdate Manager to upgrade VMware Tools without know the administrator/root password of your VMs, but take in mind that if upgrade fails, you will may need to logon on failed VM to do the upgrade manually.
