after 7U3c update non-critical patches download error

Hello community,

after i had updated my host to 7u3c (19193900) i can't install non-critical patches anymore.

VIB"" cannot been downloaded (translated from my german version).

Vsphere shows the following information in the update tab :

Do not use the non-critical baseline to update ESXi 7.0GA - 7.0U3b hosts. Use a baseline created with an ESXi 7.0 U3c or higher ISO image or Critical Host Patches baseline before applying any other patches to these hosts.

But with a new baseline for non-critical pathes i get the same download error.

Can anyone help ?

Hartmut

Hello Hartmut,

can you share what error you are getting when you scan non critical baselines..

Are there any missing bulletins?

Hello Anil0210,

VCSA shows :

Cannot download VIB: ''. This might be because of network issues or the specified VIB does NOT exist or does NOT have a proper 'read' privilege set. Please make sure the specified VIB exists and is accessible from vCenter Server.

In the vmware-vum-server.log i found the following 'error' entry :

2022-01-30T09:10:58.142+01:00 info vmware-vum-server[09155] [Originator@6876 sub=HostUpdateDepotManager] [logImpl 101] One or more VIBs mapping to Bulletin esx-update_7.0.3-0.10.18905247 have dependencies not installed on the host: 10.99.99.250 (entity: host-1038) and not part of the bulletin, marking as 'UNKNOWN' for DVS scan

If you could allow for a quick follow-up question.

When you reset the VUM database did it also wipe out any ISO \ Vender (Dell/HP) imported ISOs?

Nimble Connection Manager, ISM-Dell...etc

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2147284

The above KB offers this warning so I have to assume it is "fully" destructive - just looking for confirmation.

Cautions: The following is a destructive task. Ensure you have working backups and/or snapshots of the vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 / vCenter Server Appliance 6.7 and make a note of all custom configurations like proxy settings, third party download URLs,customized baselines, etc. before proceeding.

BTW - I am on 7.03Ua
