Vsphere Client - unable to install VUM plugin

I was able to install VUM on my vCenter 5.0 Standard server.  I basically accepted all of the default settings (MS SQL express Database, port numbers, installation directory, etc...).

Now I connected to the VCenter Server using vSphere Client.  From the "Plug-ins" menu selected "Manage plug-ins...".

The plugin for VUM is listed and I click "Download and Install...".  After a few seconds the following Error pops up:

Any ideas what the issue could be?

Just wanted to circle back around with the resolution that I found.

VUM uses TCP port 9084 which was being blocked by a firewall between my workstation and the vCenter server.  I opened access to this port in addition to ports 8084 and 9087.

Thanks.

Thanks for the follow -up.

Getting ready to put vC and vUM in a firewalled zone, and am going port hunting.

Make sure ports are open and DNS resolves.
