Vsphere 4.0 Update Manager

HI There Smiley Happy

Vsphere 4.0 Update manager om 32 bit 2008 Server

"For client communication, the vSphere client must be able to access the specified ports on the Update manager server. For patch transfers, ESX hosts must be able to access the specifed port on the Update manager server. VMware vCenter Update manager restart is required for these changes to tage effect. If there are any firewalls, the must be configured to allow traffic through these ports."

My VC and Update manager server are on to serveres - Firewall is disablet on both serveres. My ESX and my VC and Update manager serveres are on the same network.

Andre

I also get this message whilst using the fqdn. The system seems to work but the red warning message never goes away. Is this a bug or intended or is it likely there is something at fault with the setup?

Thanks.

Hi William, I think that this message is always present and never goes away. If your system is working fine, then you can just disregard the message.

Blimey - that seems somewhat misleading. Ok I shall gladly disregard.

I hope VMware can sort that out though...
