VUM shows host needs patches for other ESX versions

I just remediated an ESX 4.1 host to ESXi 5.0. During the remediation there was a timeout and the host didn't automatically connect. I reconnected it, scanned for the 5 ISO baseline and that showed OK, then scanned for patches.

The Update Manager tab shows 8 patches needed (correct number). When I click Remediate, the wizard shows me 308--patches for all ESX/i versions.

What next?

Thanks

the other 308 patches may be part of the baseline you created What criteria did you use?  If the scan for updates is done and you start the remediation process an you are showing only 8 needed then you should be good.

All 308 are in the baseline, but the second screen in the wizard didn't show all as needing to be installed on the previous host updates.

It only installed the 8. It now shows on the UM tab as Unknown (instead of Non-Compliant) with a question mark next to 300 ("Unknown Host").

You may want to remove teh Host from vCenter which will purge all DB records and then add it back. That usually resolves these issues.
