Migrate the vm with vmotion before mounting the server in maintenance?

Cluster with 2 esxi hosts, 6.7U3.

Hello Albert,

VUM will try put a host into maintenance mode when it needs to reboot it during the remediation operation.

However, this will only work automatically if you have DRS (in fully automated mode) enabled.

If you do not have DRS enabled then you need to manually migrate the VMs to the other host and put the host into maintenance mode after all VMs have been moved off the host.
