VMware vSphere Update Manager Check Notification queued...

We have an ESXi V7.x datacenter with a dozen ESXi servers. Updates are being downloaded regularly and applied in our weekend update window without any issue. Where we have a problem is in the Recent Tasks window, we get multiple entries where the VMware vSphere Update Manager Check Notification is in ? queued status.

Looking in the vSphere event log, there are entries for checking for notifications.

The Task Console provides a bit more information.

on the vCenter Server Management page, vCenter will check for updates. Under the Network tab, the http and https proxy addresses are set properly.

I am at a loss as to where to even look to see where this task is defined much less cancelled by a user.

Any advice as to what to check and where to check it?

I've had many issues with proxy settings and vCenter in the past and wouldn't recommend setting both http and https proxies, keep it simple and choose one but not both.
