When doing a patch or upgrade that need a reboot via update center on a host, I get the following error:

The vCenter uses different ports for https and http (4443, 480) than the default (since there is a small test web server on this physical server). Theses ports where added in the firewall config and show in text mode but not in the configuration security profile ?
I have done
esxcfg-firewall -o 4443,tcp,out,UpdateManager
esxcfg-firewall -o 480,tcp,out,UpdateManagerWeb
and the results that I only see at the end of the esxfg-firewall -q and not in the upper section:

Incoming and outgoing ports blocked by default.

I get the same fault.
how did you fix this?
it's being a while and no one has responded. i would advise creating a support request with vmware support if you have.

I found the solution for that problem.
If you have any invalid, inaccessible or orphaned VMs (like me) in the inventory, you should unregister those virtual machines and try again with update in Update Manager.

Perfect! That was the remedy to the problem. I had one orphaned server. I removed it. And the upgrade went right through.
