Is it possible to split Update Manager away from an instance of vCenter and then share that new Update Manger with 2 vCenters, in the hope of preventing 2 Update Manager Servers and 2 repositories.
Cheers
I dont know if this is currently supported, but you can have two instances of Update Manager installed and have the 2nd look at the repository of the first, which at least saves having to download the files twice.
Albeit brief, this was discussed before. You may be alble to PM for more details?

Currently you should have one VUM for every VC. I think that one VUM connected to more than one VC is not supported
