Updating ESXi 6.7 Hosts after VCSA 6.7 U3 is Installed

After installing U3 on our VCSA 6.7 we're having issues upgrading the ESXi hosts to U3.  The "Update Manager" is asking for an ISO file, but all of the downloads from VMware's Update website only downloads a ZIP file.

https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/patch#search

VMware is asking me to download from the full package area of the website, but those files are dated back to 8/2019 and doesn't have the current updates.  The problem is the update website only downloads ZIP files and the main website has both available, but they are older updates.

https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/downloads/details?productId=742&downloadGroup=ESXI67U3

Is there a method in ESXi 6.7U2 hosts to update using the ZIP files?  Update Manager only allows ISO files, but there are no ISO files on the first link to the update page only the second link.

Right now I have another problem regarding the zip files.  When I try to burn them to CD/DVD the individual files within the ISO file are placed there instead of the ISO file Itself.

I want to update the hosts using the latest files up to April 2020.

You have to click on "custom iso" if you need  $vendor specific ESXi image.  The original vmware one is located under https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/downloads/details?downloadGroup=ESXI67U3B&productId=742&rPId=4801...

Those updates are over 6 months old.  Why doesn't the vSphere Client allow zipped file updates since all of the files from the upgrade site is zips only and no ISO files?  I'm being told I have to download an old "Full Install Package" file to be able to get an ISO file for U3 updates.

None of these files are going to have the Jan 2020 or April 2020 updates.

Go to the first link I entered and you can only download zipped files.  If they are switching to ISO files only why doesn't the update site have them?

With the Web Client we could use zipped files, but we can't when the vCenter is updated to U3.  What are the new procedures?

Use the below update as an example. How would you download an ISO file instead of the supplied zip?

ESXi670-202004002  4-28-2020

Product:ESXi (Embedded and Installable) 6.7.0 Download

Mitigates the following:

ESXi670-202004408-BG ESXi670-202004403-BG ESXi670-202004404-BG ESXi670-202004102-SG ESXi670-202004407-BG ESXi670-202004101-SG ESXi670-202004406-BG ESXi670-202004401-BG ESXi670-202004002 ESXi670-202004103-SG ESXi670-202004405-BG ESXi670-202004402-BG

But if you have Update Manager it should also contain that update. In Update Manager filter on update ID "ESXi670-Update03" and it should appear in the list of updates.

Consider giving Kudos if you think my response helped you in any way.

There is no need for importing VMware ZIPs into VUM because VUM have already downloaded all zips(vibs).  VMware doesnt create new ISO every month when a new patch comes out. So upgrade/install the  latest base Version which is 6.7u3b and than apply the patches trough VUM. The zip files are for those guys who dont have VUM and wont let ESXi connect into the internet for downloading patches directly.

Our system is offline so it's not connected to the internet to pull updates.

Than you should upload the zip to a shared datastore and update the esxi hosts from command line without the help from VUM.

Even though I have U3 on the VCSA it only shows U2 available and already implemented.

Than download the VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.7.0.44100-16275304-patch-FP.iso  and bring your VCSA 6.7 to the latest version.
