We're running version 1.0u3. When we scan an ESX host just upgrade in place from CD to 3.5u3 we show that ESX 3.5u1 and u2 are missing from the server. I thought all updates are cummulative up to an update release level?
Maybe this is something clunky about the version we're on.
We also find that some "Remediate Entity" tasks never go away from the Recent Tasks view in Virtual Center (v3.5.3).
Mother's don't let your children do production support for a living!
HI vmrulz,
you are absolutely right - ESX updates are cumulative:
"The ESX Server update releases are cumulative and new update releases
contain all fixes in the previous update release. It is unnecessary to
install ESX350-Update01 on a host that is already compliant with
ESX350-Update02"
see http://www.vmware.com/support/vi3/doc/vi3_vum_10u4_rel_notes.html
try to upgrade VUM to 1.5 and try the remediation again
