UMDS + HP vibsdepot -> not showing up in UM

Hi all,

I set up an UMDS and added the HP vibsdepot. I can see HP-patches in the patch store (E:\UMDS\hostupdate\HPQ).

But I can't see the hp-patches in the UM who is downloading from the UMDS.

What I noticed: the HPQ directory in not registered in the xml file in the hostupdate directory (__hostupdate20-consolidated-index__.xml).

Did I do anything wrong? Do I have to modify the xml file manually?

This is the current config:

c:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager>vmware-umds -G

Yup. Got it.

Don't use the "shared repository".

[x] Direct connection to the internet -> "Add Download Source..." -> URL: http....

For me it looks like this:

http://<url...bla..bla...>/hostupdate/__hostupdate20-consolidated-index__.xml

http://<url...bla..bla...>/vaupgrade/.......xml  (I don't use va upgrades at the moment)

That's it. Smiley Happy

PS: This is my current UMDS config:

Thank you for writing back. Are you sure you can actually see HP patches in repository?

I can add vmware XML file but not the same wizard does not recognize HPQ XML file. "Connectivity status - Not Connected".

I (sort of) got mine working too. Before I was downloading only ESXi5.1 with UMDS, but looks like all HP updates are for 5.0. I also had to download metadata.hp-nmi-esxi5.0-bundle-.1-2-sept2012.zip file manually and put it in right folder. For some reason UMDS did not download it.

So you install them (HP 5.0 patches) to ESXi5.1 or 5.5 too?
