Patch availability: No

I'm somehow desperate already: I have configured update manager 5 to show me what patches are to run against an ESXi host. But when I'm going to remediate that host, the rightmost column "Patch availability" in the patches-to-apply summary dialog window reads "No" in each row, and when hitting "Next" I get a warning that some patches are not available and if I really want to continue.

When I force update manager to download, it fetches description information for some seconds from the internet and then goes to ready again. The repository tab shows me lots of patches.

What do I need to do to simply patch a host? I went through all settings repeatedly and tested Internet connection and cannot detect a configuration flaw so far... Cannot remember to have had such troubles in 4.1...

what are you remediating against?  Do you create a Host patch baseline and attach to the object you are remediating?
