Installing Update manager with VCenter Server appliance...

Hi,

How do I install UM so it works with the VCenter Server Appliance?  I haven't found any details for this.  Using Essentials Plus 6.0 bundle...

Hi,

you need to install the update manager on a windows server and connect it to the vCenter server after that.

So easiest way to do it is to create a windows server VM, and install VUM according to the documentation that can be found here:

vSphere Update Manager Documentation

During the installation you have to enter the IP/name of your VCSA and it will register.

I tried your Installation Manual but when I am asked to put in the Information about my vCenter Server (which is a vCenter Server Appliance 6.0.0) I am told that : "vCenter Server is incompatible with the VMware vSphere Update Manager you are installing. Please select a compatible vCenter Server."

What should I do?

Download the update manager installer in the right version so it matches your vCenter server.
