Installation Problem with Update Manager 5.5 on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise

Hi all,

I have Installation problems with vSphere 5.5 - vSphere Update Manager

If i try to install the vSphere Update Manager it raises an error at the Sun Java Runtime Installation step:

A Dialog appears:

NSIS Error

The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.

This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer  to obtain an new copy.

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED)

After clicking on ok the origin Install Shiled Setup says:

VMware vSphere Update Manager

Error: 1722 A problem with a Windows program package occured ....

Action: VM_JreInstall, Path: C:\Windows\Installer\MSI13A7.tmp,

Command: /S /INSTALLDIR=C:\Program Files (x86)\ ... \jre\

I'm trying to install on a Windows 2008 R2 Server (German language)

The installation software is a downloaded iso original image from vmware.com (VMware-VIMSetup-all-5.5.0-1378901-20131001.iso)

Has anyone an idea whats going wrong here?

Best regards,

Gernot

Welcome to the Community,

Just to rule this out, did you verify the MD5 checksum of the downloaded .iso file yet?

Hello André,

thank you for your answer.

It seems there was something wrong with my first download (checksum was not correct)

I did not see this, since some other setups run successfully.

I downloaded the iso again (checksum was now correct) and the setup was ok.

Thanks a lot for your support.
