Clean up Update Manager Repository

Hi @all,

I've got VC 2.5 U4 installed with the Update Manger...

I've got only ESX 3.5 boxes... but the Download Manger also download also Updates for 3.0.3 Boxes and the ESXi...

is there a possibilty to clean up the Repository?

I don't think you have that option. But, you can always, filter and apply only those baselines which are applicable to your environment.

I checked this yesterday...

what happens was that he downloaded also all files, but I think, you can create an specially "Baseline" for ESX Boxes, like 3.0.x, 3.5.x and ESXi and so on:-)

you can delete these manually from the default location which is - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Update Manager\Data

I think in vSphere VUM only metadata will be downloaded. Unnecessary patches won't be donwloaded locally.

yeah...

I already moved the store to an other location:-)...

but I only need the FIles for ESX 3.5...
