I've spent the last couple of weeks researching, trying and failing to thinapp java. Here are the details... A single view image with the latest version of java installed (1.6u29), Windows 7 x86 SP1 and IE8. The application in question requires an older version of java to run properly (1.6u2). I've attempted this on both Thinapp 4.6.2 and 4.7 to no avail. I've followed the guide available here: http://blogs.vmware.com/thinapp/2010/01/step-by-step-instructions-on-how-to-thinapp-newer-java-versi... and still have not gotten it to work. I've packaged the ie8 executatable as a start point in the package with java and i've tried it by using java as an "applink". I can see the correct java plugins loaded in explorer, but I always seem to get the same result. Thinapp seems to either ignore the packaged java all together and launch the "base" version of java (which goes against everything thinapp stands for) or if I do get the packaged version of java to run i'm always encountered with a "could not create the java virtual machine" error. I honestly feel like I've tried everything at this point. The lack of support on my particular problems leads me to believe this isn't rocket science and is a process that should work relatively easily. If anyone has been through the ringer with this and can possibly shed any light as to what might be going wrong let me know. I'll submit any logs or information requested if you're able to help... and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Frank
