thinapp audio player codecs

Having some issues trying to thinapp Libery Court Player 6.3 (available as a free download through their website). I am receiving an error that a codec is not installed or missing when trying to load a file after launching the thinapp.

I have tried capturing in both XP/Win7 32 bit environments, tried loading a file in the player & playing it prior to post scan but still no luck.

This is somewhat of a proprietary application where I wouldn't expect anyone else to be facing this same battle - but I am curious to know if anyone has best practices or similar experiences with thinapping audio players/codecs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just tried ThinApping Liberty Court Player 6.2 (could not find 6.3 for download). I could not test importing a .dcr file as i do not have one.

Could you attach a sample .dcr file if possible? I can test and share the ThinApp with you if it works.

Thanks for giving it a shot, here's a sample .dcr with a couple seconds of audio to test with.

After further troubleshooting, this appears to be the codec it is requiring:

www.libertyrecording.com/download/SpeexACM_1.0.1.1.zip

I have tried installing the codec along with the player & capturing it that way, but it still isn't picking it up. When I attempt to just capture the codec installation, the only entry point I get is cmd.exe. Can I use this and app link it?

you can use it as an applink, but you have to use the main data container, if the application is too big the data container will be stored in a separated .dat file, try to use a requiredapplink separately...

I could reproduce the exact problem you are facing.

I'm trying to figure out how the native application can read the .dcr file without any issue. Guess there could be some COM+ objects that are preventing the ThinApp to work, as ThinApp cannot virtualize COM+ objects.

Seems like the required codec (SpeexACM) installs a driver piece, thats why you don't see any content when capturing just the codec.

Have you tried with the latest 4.7.1 release of ThinApp?
