OS?
Language?
Tried another image to perform the capture on?
Windows 7 Ultimate,Simplified Chinese
I have not used VMware Workstation.
Could you try on another machine/virtual preferred, using same language? If still an issue I would recommend you contacting our support for some deeper investigation..
I have just built up a fully patched, clean Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 VM (English) and installed Thinapp v.4.6.1.
Prescan bombs out with the stated error message.
There are exactly 13 subkeys under HKCU, the 13th being 'Volatile Environment'
Not sure what to do from here.:smileyplain:
I am currently out of the office. I have limited email access and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Actually my error message is "..index 13" not 14.
procmon shows that snapshot.exe queried the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Volatile Environment key.
I added HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Volatile Environment to the Registty Ignore List in snapshot.ini, but it made no difference.
I excluded HKU and HKCU from the scan and prescan completes fine (not surprising really).
Could you use the latest 4.7 release and check please.
Do you see the same issue on other machines having same configuration? If possible, could you check on a XP machine too?
XP SP3 is my standard machine that I use for thinapp'ing. I've been using it for years without any problems.
It's been a long time since I've had a requirement to capture on Windows 7. So I built up a fresh Win7Entx86 VM just for the purpose.
I might delete the VM and start from scratch.
Yes please. Check on the new Win 7 VM and post your results. If you still face the same problem, please raise a service request with VMware.
Starting again worked, the old VM must've been fubar.
Good to hear it worked
