Thinapp'd ERP and stale SQL connections

Hey all,

The ERP we use (VISUAL Manufacturing), seems to run okay in ThinApp... But after a while of inactivity, the connection to the SQL server drops and crashes the program. It needs constant connection to keep the license active.  This does not happen when installed normally in Windoze.  Any ideas?

thanks

Depends how pernament connection to SQL is performed.

  • It's random time of inactivity?
  • Any messages in event viewer?

Thank you for answers,

Thanks for the reply Cievo.

I'm trying to narrow down the time... but it's hard.  It doesn't necessarily pop-up with the disconnection error until you try to do something within the app.  But if you're doing something... then the connection stays open.  So it's a matter of catching it right as it disconnects and getting an approximation of the time.

There is nothing in the event viewer on the ThinApp host side - but I will check on the SQL side today and get back to you.

thanks,

-Luke

If application is natively installed or it's Thinapped, they access network resources same way. There is no limitation for network access on Thinapped application.
