Thinapp Office and GPO application

I need to ThinApp an older version of Thinapp, but I also want to apply the relvant Office settings via GPO. However there are multiple GPOs which apply depending on what groups the user is in. So its imposible to create the standard settings within the thinapp. How have you guys handled this before?

My first idea is to simply apply as many GPOs as possible, but then the group-dependant differences are lost and also future GPO updates require the Thinapp to be modified.

My second idea is to write a wrapper or script within the Thinapp so on launch it queries for group membership and applies the applicable registry settings to match the relevant GPOs, but this sounds horrible to manage going forward, effectively replicating GPOs into a script.

Why it's not possible to create one ThinApp package and apply GPO policies?

If you know what registry keys you are modifying via GPO you can play with isolation mode in thinapp package and make it work. You will not use sand-box registry keys, but native ones.

***Good question is half of the answer...***

You can specify any GPO settings you like within the ThinApp. Often do you want to disable GPOs from affecting a ThinApped application and I have put together a blog post about how to do that. Please use it as a reference to find the location of the GPOs in the registry.. http://blogs.vmware.com/thinapp/2010/10/thinapp-and-group-policy.html

If not fully isolated or you have specified GPO registry keys within your project will the ThinApped app. by default read GPOs from the system.
