Good day!
I'm having an issue with ThinDirect and newgen browsers.
Thindirect is supposed to direct URLS not specified in the ThinDirect.txt back to the users physical browser. This behavior seemed to work fine for me in IE6.
But it is not working in Chrome 11 and Firefox 4 in this case. For example
If in my text file I have
# Lines beginning with # are comments and are not included## Example: Redirect all URLs (http+https) pages on server.com to this browser# server.com## Example: Redirect all URLs on server.com that start with FOLDER1/FOLDER2# server.com/FOLDER1/FOLDER2*## Example: Redirect all .jsp pages on server.com to this browser# server.com/*.jsp[Mozilla Firefox.exe]*oracleoutsourcing.com/*When the user goes to login.oracleoutsourcing.com they are properly redirected to the virtual browser by Thindirect. This is working. But now the user can open a new tab and go to www.google.com, and it should be directed out of the Thinapp browser and back to the local browser. This is not working.
Any thoughts?
Found the answer
The second part of the redirection is from the Virtual browser to the native browser. This only works for virtualized Internet Explorer
browsers. My slang term for this is "FatDirect" - but that's just my oversimplification of the feature.
Hi,
I'm too looking to get this done, but so far no luck. Can you please explain what you mean "The second part of the redirection is from the Virtual browser to the native browse"
tnx
ThinDirect is a Browser Helper you add to Internet Explorer. Meaning, an IE6, 7 or 8 can redirect to any packaged browser and redirection back to native browser will happen if packaged browser is Internet Explorer.
So we can start Mozilla, Chrome or any other browser from native IE with ThinDirect, but you will not get redirection back to the native browser with any of those browsers.
