Hello,
When we ThinApp(version 4.0.0-2200) an application for example Microsoft Expression Web 2. This program registers some extenstions to be automaticly be opened with that program. But it can also use extensions like HTML that the default open action stays with Internet Explorer but when you rightclick a html file and looks at "Open With" menu with the manual installation you get there the Expression Web application as option. If we use the ThinApp and thinreg the application Expression Web doesn't show up for HTML files in the Open with menu. How can i solve this?
Have you tried to look into Package.ini file for lines FileTypes? There are defined extensions that should be assigned with executables when registering app.
For examle for Word in Office 2003 I have there:
http://Microsoft Office Word 2003.exe
Source=%ProgramFilesDir%\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE
Shortcut=office.dat
Icon=%SystemRoot%\Installer\{9012041B-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}\wordicon.exe
FileTypes=.doc.dochtml.docm.docx.dot.dothtml.rtf.wbk
Shortcuts=%Programs%\Microsoft Office
You should have .html extension for M$ Expression Web2 there if you want it to work.
And here is documentation.
If you have those extensions and it doesn't work correctly, then IMHO you should report this to ThinApp team to fix it.

Thank you for your reply. I know that i can set those extensions there, but the extensions i place there then as far as i know( and did test in the past) that is will be then the default application to OPEN the file with. Like for Expression Web i want to have Internet Explorer as the default to OPEN but the Expression Web the default for EDIT.
And if i put the extension in that line i know the application will be placed in the Open With menu, but i don't want it the default program for opening HTML files.
Hello
Sorry for confusion ![]()
I think that thinreg neither MSI package make changes in other than default opening registries. IMHO you sould make those registry changes yourself.
