Hey Guys,
Did anyone face the problem, I thinapp'ed an application which is 3 GB, created an msi. When i try to install it on Win 7(64 bit) getting an error " The system cannot open the specified device or file"
Yes i have seen this problem before. This issue is fixed in 4.7.1 and later.
(Check the Resolved Issues section of the Release notes: http://www.vmware.com/support/thinapp4/doc/releasenotes_thinapp471.html)
Kindly use the latest version (4.7.2) and rebuild the package.
Hi Lakshman,
I did use the 4.7.2 version, still the same issue.
Can you upload the package.ini please
(Not sure how some of the replies got deleted. Reposting again)
This is a known issue in 4.7.2 and the workaround is to set MSIStreaming=1 in the package.ini and rebuild the package.
Make sure the entire 'bin' folder content has to be copied for deployment along with the MSI.
Hi,
I did face this issue recently.
Statistics:
Total package size : 9.04 GB
Size of Bin Folder : 6.03 GB
Size of MSI :3.01 GB
Deployment OS : Win 7 32 bit
This MSI when placed on a network share and attempted to install from a network location showed me the error as mentioned in the thread. Do I copy the MSI locally to that machine and install it; installed without issues.
So, Could you please see if copying the file (msi) locally and then installing it, could resolve the issue?
