SAP Gui 7.20 Word integration and SAP Logon Icon?

We ThinApped a SAP GUI 7.20.3 on a Windows XP SP3 with ThinApp 4.6. SAP Logon to the server works as expected, but there are two problems unsolved:

1. Wenn using the Excel integration button in the SAP GUI our ThinApped Excel 2007 starts, but it could not open the excel file generated from the SAP GUI  (ThinApped Excel did not found the temporary xls file?) Any ideas?

2. The SAP Login entry point did not have an icon (only windows default icon)?

Anyone got this solved?

1.  For this you may wish to have the SAP GUI ThinApp package dump to a native folder (i.e. a folder in your project set to MERGED isolation which, in the project, is empty).  That same folder for the Office/Excel package should probably be marked in the same fashion but in reality only needs to be set to WRITECOPY for the Office/Excel ThinApp package to see it.

The other way to do this is do a RequiredApplink in the SAP ThinApp package to the Office/Excel ThinApp package so it opens the ThinApp'ed Excel into the SAP ThinApp virtual bubble.

2.  You'll have to set (or reset if not correct) the Icon= value for the entry point.  See the ThinApp Help on how to do this.

Hope this helps!

Tried the following Applink with the SAP GUI 7.20.3

RequiredAppLinks=\\fs1\ThinApps\Office2007Standard\Office 2007 Standard.dat

but this did not work for us 😞 Doubles start time of the SAP GUI and opening an excel spreadsheet did not start execl inside the SAP GUI.

The problem with the icon is solved.

[SAP Logon.exe]
Disabled=0
Source=%ProgramFilesDir%\SAP\SapSetup\setup\SAL\SapLogon.s8l
Icon=%ProgramFilesDir%\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe
Shortcut=SAP GUI for Windows 7.20.dat
WorkingDirectory=%ProgramFilesDir%\SAP\SAPsetup\setup\SAL
Shortcuts=%Desktop%;%Programs%\SAP Front End

So any more ideas to solve the office integration problem?
