Multiple virtual MS KMS licensed packages half-baked solution

Greetings -

With the latest Thinapp 4.7.1 I was able to TA separately (on Win 7 32-bit base VM): Office 2010, Project 2010, Visio 2010 and run them all at a time on a win 7 x64 VM (all successfully KMS activated).

But this only half of the desired final solution; the apps need to "communicate"; e.g send from Visio files as emails with Outlook, from Project visualize reports in Excel, etc.

So I used applink to link both Project and Visio (parent) to the Office (child).

As soon as I do this, both Project and Visio (meaningless if installed both at a time with TA Office or only one of them), when started, launch some config/setup and fail with license issues: "Microsoft Office cannot verify the license for this application. A repair attempt failed  or was canceled by the user. The Application will now shut down." Office is fine.

This kinda makes meanigless the point of TA separately Office, Visio and Project; unless there is a workaround allowing applink to be used.

Thanks,

Adrian

I am about to thinapp the exact same scenario. It sounds like it is better to include Project and Visio right in with the Office 2010 package. Have you had any success since your post or are you creating a package with all them together now?

No really; did not raise a support ticket with vmware yet.

I TA all them together, and they seem to run fine like so; managed to get the MSI (to use with view, locally installed) around 1.1 GB.

The downside of the integrated approach is that you may have to use/maintain multiple TA packages for users who need only office, or office+visio or office+visio+project instead of using applink with optional and the separated packages.
