hi im Rangga New to this forum.
i have a question can thinapp package custom client application installation. my client application regularly download data via file transfer and import database to its local folder. the folder is the same with the application directory and not on the "Program Files" Directory.
i am using thin app 4.6.1.
thx in advance
If we can virtualize the application or not is not easy to answer without trying to package the application. Generally speaking so do I not see anything in your question that would not work with ThinApp..
Components we currently do not support virtualizing (though sometimes can you work around the limitations) are:
* Device Drivers
* COM+
* Global Hocks DLLs
* Network visible DCOM (locla DCOM works)
The download your application is doing should work ThinApped.
hi thx for your reply,
well i can imagine if we use msi package install. though i cant imagine if we wan to do full streaming only. my application regularly update some of the file or database entry in its local database every time at first start.
i have package the apps but dont yet test it on the original environtment. if you have this kind experience can you share it. but in the mean time i will tested it at the site and see what will show up. for now i will closed the thread until further test :smileygrin:.

Have you tried using SBmerge to update your package ?
I know you marked the thread "closed", but I wanted to comment. Having packaged Internet Explorer, I can tell you that applications that retrieve files from the Internet and other places is a common occurrence. Sounds like you need to focus on sandbox management.
hi guys all,
thx for the help. sorry for not updating this thread. for your information i have succeded on virtualizing my apps. i have tested 2 scenario using full instalation and streaming, all are running well. apps every time need to update its data still can download from repository. well as long as the app running i'm really fine. still learning how this thinapp actually works though.
thx
