File associations issue

We've got a native MS Office installation that includes the Visio viewer and also a Thinapp release of Visio 2010.

When they both get installed, visio file are still opening in the viewer instead of the full Visio thinapp.

I know we can set commands in the custom actions section of the template.msi to force this (using ftype and assoc commands and targetting the c:\program files\thinapp folder\thinappvisio.exe")     but what about when the Thinapp is streamed and the thinapp files doesn't exit in program files.

The entry point already has:

[Microsoft Visio 2010.exe]

Source=%ProgramFilesDir%\Microsoft Office\Office14\VISIO.EXE
Shortcut=Microsoft Visio Pro 14 R01.dat
FileTypes=.vdw.vdx.vsd.vss.vst.vsw.vsx.vtx
ObjectTypes=Visio.Application;Visio.Application.11;Visio.Application.3;Visio.Application.4;Visio.Application.5;Visio.Application.6;Visio.Drawing;Visio.Drawing.11;Visio.InvisibleApp;Visio.InvisibleApp.11;Visio.Stencil.11;Visio.Template.11;Visio.WebDrawing.14;Visio.Workspace.11
Shortcuts=%Programs%\Microsoft Office

Shall I just add VisioViewer.Viewer to the objecttypes to workaround it?

What's extension of file you are trying to open?

What is installed first and what's installed second? (virtual or native app)

Have you registered streamed Thinapp or installed MSI?
