Best Place to Thinapp?

So my organization is getting ready to start thinapping some apps for a proof of concept. Is it recommended to do the packaging in a local VM using VMware Workstation or can it be done using VMs running in a vSphere environment? Doing it on a local VM will definitely be more user friendly since you can drag and drop the installers from the host OS. Doing it through vSphere would require me to download the applications from the internet. Would this make the VM less clean then? Also, should VMware tools be installed when thinapping?

VMware Workstation is the recommended environment but vSPhere also works.

Try not to install VMware tools.

I would use a VM on vSphere. You can download all the installers to a network share and access that share from the VM. I would also suggest you setup a drive mapping to a network share to save your project files. The shorter the path the better when saving the project files from the wizard.
