Hello, has anyone tried to ThinApp an Adobe Captivate 6.0?
Here are the things I did:
I also tried to run the ThinApp on the same box where it was built. It did not give me any license error. To me, it seems like VMware ThinApp failed to get something from the PostScan, Capture and Build/
Thanks for the help!!
Yes, you got it. Now you should find out which settings is the key for license.
I would use ProcessMonitor to find out.
Hi,
It might be possible that Adobe Activate 6.0 licensing is machine specific, so it didn't give an error when you executed it on the capture machine (Microsoft Visual Studio does the same thing). If this is the case, then it might be very difficult to make this work.
Actually it would also depend where and in which form does it store the license info, if it is in a file and non-encrypted then things shouldn't be bad at all, but if it encrypted then it would be difficult. Also just FYI, while using ThinApp all the application licensing (the application that you are trying to virtualize) policies remain the same as in a native installation.
Thanks.
I know this is a fairly old post, but in case anyone else is having the same issue it may be as simple as uncommenting the VirtualComputerName line in the Package.ini.
I have only got the trial version at the moment, but I will update this after we have the full version in the coming weeks (allegedly).
I guess I will reply my solution to my own question. :smileysilly: For anyone who needs help.
With Adobe CS6 products, you have to pre-package their software with Adobe Creative Suite Enterprise Deployment first, with your license key and Adobe CS log-in credential (which is now required for CS6 products).
Once you have the pre-packaged Adobe software, you can proceed with the Thinapp process.
Watch out for the 32bit vs 64bit. I know ThinApp can only work with 32bit. However, if your environment is 64bit Win7, make sure you pre-package your Adobe software with 64bit.
If you have Adobe Acrobat, you will have to use their Adobe Customization Wizard.
That will solve your licensing issue.
