Vmdk File was not working in VM

Hi

this is issue happened in my Network, a user Requested to add his hdd from his old machine, as per the request i added that vmdk file to new machine,

after that when he try to open the drive its giving " Disk is not Formated do you want to farmat it now". User have very Imp data on that how to resolve the issue........... Quick Responce Appriciated.

Please provide more information.

Which VMware product and version/build are you using?

Which operating system is installed on the new VM and which OS was installed on the VM with the attached vmdk?

Did the "old" vmdk have snapshots?

Please attach the .vmx files as well as the vmware.log files of both VM's.
