VMWare Workstation 12 Pro program taking too long to open

I have a virtual machine that has Win7/32 OS.  The memory is set to 4 GB and 1 processor with 4 cores per processor.  I have a PLC program.  I open this program and it takes approximately 1 minute and 26 sec to open.  I asked my boss to open the same program on his VM and it only took 18 sec.  We compared some settings and they look similar.  I cleaned the disk (option under manage), I defragmented and compacted the HD and I still have the same problem.  The VM I have I got it from my boss.  I don't know why it takes that long on my VM to open the same program.  Any ideas?

You should also compare the specs of the host machine. Maybe your boss's host machine is a 4C/8T i7 with SSD while you have a low voltage i5 that throttles with 5400rpm hard disk. That's why he is the boss and not the other way around. :smileylaugh: The difference in storage type alone (SSD vs HDD) can make for a noticeable difference.

You could attach an output of the dxdiag of the your host machine and that of your boss's machine.

You also tagged your post with Workstation 12.1. It is best to update it to 12.5.9 (it is a free update for 12.x). 12.1 is quite old and there have been numerous bug fixes along the way.
