Has anyone else seen an ESX / ESXi host have to go through a reinstall after upgrading the bios, firmware, and hba cards? I have gone through this twice and am wondering if I am the only one.
Now to be fair, the last time this happened I was upgrading to the newest Bios, firmware and HBA updates on a 3.5 ESX that had never been patched. I suspect that the newer updates probably would have worked on a patched 3.5 host, but this is an educated guess.
But a month ago I upgraded a 4.0 ESX host with the above and ran into the same issue.
