How does sysprep runs when creating a customize VM from a template?

Hi,

I have a template (window's) that I have created from a running VM( wokring windows 2k3 OS).

I have copied the sysprep files in the required folder in Vcenter so that when I create a VM from this template it give me option to customize it

When I select customize is ask me customization parameters and prepares that machine.

While it prepares I have noted that :-

1) First that template is copied and a VM is created

2) This new VM is power on

3) Then it shows ctrl + alt + delete screen for sometime and then it is shutdown

4) VM is power up again and then required customization parameters are set , and a new VM is ready

For step 3 , I quickly login to the system and saw that sysperp was run in that instance

I tried to found different ways by which a file can be executed without login in a windows VM/machine but was unsuccessful

My question here is how does this sysperp.exe is executed without login in to the VM. ?

Does Vcenter/ESX server mounts that template and do some changes in the template , where can I see that chage ?

Thanks
