Host connection and Power state in ESXi 5.0

Hello everybody,

I have one clsuter running in one V Center after that i am creating anothere DR cluster in same Vcenter with three host: VMware ESX 5.0 ( Three Host )

My problem is: after I am adding those hosts getting alarm " Alarm Host connection and power state" every 5 Min in newly instlled three host only after that three Host are getting disconnected

I check DNS, IP/mask, gateway, cable,etc....nothing, Iam also able to ping those server and able to do NSlookup but this error is not gowing. also confuigure HA cluster Again* three times )

Do you have firewall between vcenter and DR ESXi can you check if the required firewall port is opened between ESXi and VC/DNS servers, to avoid frequent disconnect of esxi to vc.

port to be opened between vc and esxi

902, 5989, 80,443,623, 8000, 8001, 6500, 514,8080

port to be opened between esxi and dns server

53, 88, 389

The issue is in the frequency of the alert.

You can change that or remove it. check attached

Hi

thanks for your reply, but IF we disable this Alarm then the host will not disconnect & there will not be problem  for the othere host which it running in production now

You can disable the alarm on the host level. Just doing it by selecting the host and browsing to Alarms.

Thanks for you mail. but after disable the Alaram , our host are still showing disconnected & i am not bale to manage the host.

Hello,

Then the issue is in the connectivity to the server, did you try to reconnect? right click on the host and choose connect.

Hi thanks

BUt i treid 4/5 times of remove AND  RECONNECT THE HOSTS 4/5 times

ALso remove & create a Datacenter in Vcenter

we have open the required ports   in our firewall and it started working

port to be opened between vc and esxi

902, 5989, 80,443,623, 8000, 8001, 6500, 514,8080

port to be opened between esxi and dns server

53, 88, 389
