Snapshot deleted from data browser

I accidentally deleted the snapshot from the data browser instead of using manage snapshot and deleting from there. Now the VM harddisk1 and 2 is linked to the deleted snapshot. How can I edit the *.vmx file and change the name to the actual filename will it solve the issue.
