I'm wondering if anyone has studied performance of linked clones relative to non-linked clones (say for 10 vms on 10G ram machine)
On the one hand, there is probably increased read contention for the data in the shared section, but on the other hand there is a better chance that this data is cached in memory.
I refer to this procedure for setting up linked clones in vm server
Any thoughts?
Brad
Since this approach would use snapshot for all virtual machines, I assume that aggregate performance would suffer, compared with non-snapshoted VMs.
Even if base disk would be common to all virtual machines.
