Hello,
I am new to vmware fusion software.
If I up the RAM on my virtual pc will it effect my mac's performance in any way?
thanks!
Yes - of course.
The more RAM you assign to VMs the less RAM remains for the host

description of vmx-parameters:
As Continuum correctly states the more ram assigned to the VM's the less for the host, it is a balaning act with the hosted environement, keeping enough RAM available for your Host to remain performant and also giving enough to your Guests to be useful
