I hope that I have posted this in the correct forum, if not please let me know.
I support an ancient application that uses software timing loops - true yes and not my choice at all. It needs to run on P166 or similar. Anything faster including the old box in the shed is too fast.
Is there a way to host a server that runs in a vm and the vm will not go faster than a P166? I am aware of cpufreq so a possibility is vm hosting a Linux distro which hosts a slow server running multidos. My friends business depends on this so $ is possible. I have been trying to pursuade them to pay me to move their busapp into the century of the fruitbat but to no avail.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
