BenchMarch comparison between SunFire & VCenter processors

Dear Oracle Server Experts,

We have 2 Sun Fire servers running Solaris 10 (x86) with the following CPU specifications in my organization:

Sun Fire X2200 M2 with Quad Core Processor

Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2376 CPU 1

Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2376 CPU 2

8GB RAM

Sun Microsystems Sun Fire X4100 M2

Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2356 CPU 1

Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2356 CPU 2

16GB RAM

I have recently ported both of these servers onto a VMWare VCenter Server with the following specifications:

VCenter Server, 5.1.0, 799731

Pentium II  CPU socket #0

VCenter Server, 5.0.0, 623373

Pentium ® Pro  CPU socket #0

Pentium ® Pro  CPU socket #1

The VM processors appear to be significantly less than those on the original servers but I am not familiar or could not locate relevant hardware benchmark comparison between them. Could anyone provide advice / document referrals on their comparable differences in order to determine the feasibility on using them in a production environment.

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

George
