BIOS Prefetch settings for optimal performance

We run ESXi on some Dell R200 (Single Quad Core Xeon X3210, 8GB RAM) servers.

There are some BIOS settings which I'm not sure how to set.

The particular settings I'm wondering about are:

o Adjacent Cache Line Prefetcher (Enabled)

o Hardware Prefetcher (Enabled)

o Demand-Based Power Management (Enabled)

Does anybody have any experience on what they should be set to for best vm performance?

You can leave the defaults on. The improvement depends on the nature of application. Here is an article: http://softwarecommunity.intel.com/articles/eng/2781.htm

o Demand-Based Power Management (Enabled)

ESX does not support Demand Based Power Management. it basically ignores it. You can leave it as it is.
