Skyline Health Diagnostics - SHD

VMware introduces Skyline Health Diagnostics (SHD) tool – a joint effort from engineering and support teams to enhance customer experience!

When customer encounters an issue in the environment, they can use SHD which will analyze log files, identify errors/symptoms and provide instant resolution for the encountered issues. The tool also comes with additional capabilities like validation against the VMware Compatibility guide, Security Advisory and much more. The simplified report from SHD will save significant efforts and time for customers by providing instant resolution to known issues, as well as improving the system availability and health.

 SHD  *does not* require any real time connectivity or data sharing requirements – can be run in offline mode with regular updates downloadable from VMware.

I was able to use tdnf to update the Skyline Collector successfully, but I I try the same on the Skyline Health Diagnostics appliance, which continues to say "tdnf update info not available yet!" a day after redeployed, reboot never succeeds to come up. I get the countdown sequence that usually takes seconds. When I got in yesterday morning it had not come up after 15 hours. That time I had a snapshot I reverted to. Is a tdnf update supported?

I like to know about the type of data this tools collects and who this data is share with?

It is related to privacy and security and federal regulations I have to consider first.

So data has to have our consent before  data from our esxi hosts is shared with anyone including vmware.

Please someone shed some light into this so I can get this approved and start using it!

I basically need something saying that this tool can be used in our environment and no data being shared or phoned home or if any data is needed for an issue , I have the option to consent to data being looked at by vmware on a specific support ticket that I have opened and let log analysis of this tool be shared. So some sort of controls is what I need to know. We like to be in control of the data accesses by this tool.
